6 July 1786 Dower Relinquishment

Recorded on the Hanover deed (not King William deed book):

Thursday, 6 July 1786 — William Walker and Kesiah his wife; "the said Heziah being first privately examined" (FamilySearch OCR, Hanover Deeds 1783–1792).

Clerk variant Heziah = Kesiah. King William deed books 1706–1792 are LOST; a separate KW court entry may still exist in Records Book 2, 1785–1786 (LVA Reel 1).

FamilySearch Leads — Relevant Only Jun 2026

1. Moses Clash + Kesiah Walker (ward) — likely AMT guardianship

Henrico County Marriage Bonds C, 1800–1830 — bond for marriage of Moses Clash and Kesiah Walker (ward of the above…). Years indexed: 1810, 1830.

Interpretation: A different Kesiah Walker — a minor ward ca. 1810, plausibly a daughter or granddaughter of William & Kesiah (1786 sellers), not the wife herself. Pull original bond for guardian name.

2. Moses Clark + Kesiah Walker — Henrico marriage

Henrico Marriage Records, 1815–1853 — entry 2 Dec: "Moses Clark and Kesiah Walker" (same register as George Carter / Frances Anthony). Indexed years 1828–1833.

May be same ward after marriage, or a second Kesiah Walker in Henrico — verify bond date.

3. Hanover court index — KEZIAH (WIDOW) 1785–87

Hanover Court Records, 1782–1815 — compiled name index lists KEZIAH (WIDOW) with activity 1785–87 (alongside LANE, MICAJAH, etc.).

Possible widow of William Walker dec'd of Hanover — unproven; could be unrelated Kesiah. Worth checking original court/tax pages in that index.
